Islamabad: June 1, 2007. Hundreds of Christian Nursing Students in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital Islamabad are under threats of Blasphemy Charge
There are fifty Christian student nurses and three hundred Muslim students in this institute who were sharing cordial relations before threats of Islamic laws by clerics of Lal Masjid in capital city of Pakistan.
Lal Masjid Imams and adjacent Islamic seminary students have challenged writ of government by formation of Islamic courts and threats of suicide bombing in Pakistan from months.
The fundamental groups have turned their swords toward Christian minority student girls in PIMS to create law and order situation in Islamabad, demanding filing of blasphemy charges against Christian nurses.
According to Sharing Life Ministry Pakistan, Christian nurses told SLMP team that on 26th May 2007, somebody crossed the Quran verses written on the board on which Muslim Nursing students became very aggressive and started arguing Christian students.
They further told to Sharing Life Ministry Pakistan, nobody knows who crossed the Quranic verses; the dispute was lingered on for 6 days and now today on 1st June 2007 Muslim Nurses and Students held a procession against Christian Students. They demanded police case against four Christian first year students named as Simab, Adna, Nabeela and Kanwal.
On the other hand a Christian Nursing Teacher has been transferred from Nursing School to the Hospital and Christian teacher Fazeela is accused to support Christian students and transferred to the hospital as punishment.
Muslim Nurses and Students are still on procession demanding police case against Christian students. Amana, 4th year Muslim student, Arfana the housekeeper and Rasheeda the nursing instructor are playing main role and leading the procession.
Its for record that Christians played leading role in education and health establishments for decades after formation of Pakistan but now Muslims have taken over lead in employments in these departments.
The Christian youth cannot get admissions in Schools of Nursing's, Medical Colleges, Engineering Colleges and other professional institutions in Pakistan.
The fraction of students who enter in Heath Department are kicked out by administration or incidents like PIMS in Islamabad.
