Sharing Life Ministry visited Martha family for fact finding. Martha's family left their house and took refuge at one of their relatives, the place where Martha's family is taking refuge can not be mentioned here due to security measures. Sharing life Ministry Pakistan (SLMP) met with Martha husband named Boota Masih. Boota is mason by profession. When SLMP team reached Boota he was much scared. SLMP team consoled him and his children and prayed for them. Background On asking Sharing Life Ministry Pakistan Boota Masih told that he Belongs to village Nanak Singh Changa Manga, he has four children Shakeela daughter, Nafeesa daughter, Shan son and Maria daughter. All the children are studying in government school. Boota Masih told SLMP that he is mason by profession and mostly he does work in city Lahore while his wife Martha Bibi was doing a home based business. He told SLMP that Martha has some goods which used in construction work. She used to give the goods on rent. Occurrence Boota Masih told Sharing Life Ministry Pakistan that about 6 months ago a quarrel took place between Martha and a Muslim lady of locality. Martha wanted to purchase wheat from that Muslim lady. Martha gave her some money as advance but afterwards Martha bought wheat from someone else on low price. A trivial quarrel took place but the same was settled at that time. Now few days ago About four months ago Martha gave some bamboos and some other goods on rent to Haji Rafeeq a Muslim fellow of locality. There was a mosque under construction in the locality. Haji Rafeeq got bamboos and other goods for the mosque. Afterwards the required time period Haji asked Martha to get her goods back and gave him the sum of 680 Pak rupees of rent. Boota told SLMP that Martha return 180 rupees to Haji Rafeeq as charity for mosque. Further she went to get the goods from mosque. There is a shop adjoined mosque; the aforesaid Muslim woman (Martha quarrel took place whom with) was running the shop. When Martha reached mosque to get her goods, the Muslim woman stopped her entering the mosque by saying, You are Christian you can not enter the mosque. Some laborers put the goods out side the mosque, but meanwhile quarrel arose between Muslim woman and Martha. Martha got her goods and came back to her house, in the evening Imaam (Cleric) of the mosque announced in the loud speaker and asked Muslim villagers to gather in front of mosque, he said A Christian lady (Martha) has passed derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammad, she is liable to death and let us gather in front of mosque and go to kill her for heavenly reward Boots Masih further told SLMP that hundreds of Muslims gathered with in few minutes and they attacked on his house. Meanwhile somebody called police from local police station Changa Manga. Boota fled away from his house along with his children very hardly and escaped his children in his own life, but Martha was caught by Muslims. Police took Martha in custody with great efforts from the clutches of Muslims. They were about to kill her, Muslims tortured her severely. Police took Martha Bibi to Changa Manga Police Station. Thousands of Muslims went to Police Station and build pressure on police. Police reported the case offence under section 295-C with police station Changa Manga, and sent Martha Bibi to judicial Lock up. On asking SLMP, Boota Masih told that their lives are still in danger they will not go back to their house. They left their house unlocked, their cattle are open in the house, and anybody can loot their house in their absence. In fact, now Muslims can take the house in possession. SLMP prayed with the persecuted family and assured them for SLMP maximum support in their crucial time. Remarks: This case also witnesses the increasing persecution on Christians from Muslims side. We would like to remind here the village devastated on 4th August 2006 in the same area Changa Manga. Poor Christian villagers are still homeless. The case in hands also reminds us Naseem Bibi accused for Blasphemy in Kot Fatah Din District Kasur by Muslim Protestants of Cartoons issue. Muslims implicated her into the blasphemy case and sent her into the jail, afterwards they took her house into their possession. Naseem can not take her house into her possession even after being released from jail. She is still under life threats and wandering homeless with their children. Now in Martha's case it will happen again. We are not sure what will happen with Martha in legal case against her but we are quite sure that her husband and children can not live in the village now. The property would be grabbed by Muslims and family will become homeless now. Children education will be effected and nobody would dare to top this persecution, not even government authorities. SLMP strongly recommend Martha and her family for constant prayers for the restoration and survival of this family.
