LAHORE. Archbishop of Canterbury Dr. Rowan Douglas Williams has emphasised upon the need of peaceful co-existence among followers of different religions to make the earth a safe haven for mankind.

He was addressing the participants of inter-faith dialogue at Alhamra Hall here Friday. Bishop of Lahore Alexander John Malik, Advisor to the Chief Minister Punjab Mawahid Hussain Syed,Chairman Jamhoori Aman Party Syed Muhammad Nisar Safdar and others were present on the occasion. Dr. Rowan said that Muslims and Christians must work for peace and to promote similarities among them by ignoring bitter realities and harsh moments of history. He said that both of them are brothers as " Adam" is father of them therefore, they must respect each other and make collective efforts to control the extremism. He made it clear that the inter-faith dialogue does not mean to push some one towards joining of other religion, addingthe dialogue is for motivating people to work for peace while maintaining their own faith. He said that terrorism, racism and nuclear issues are problems of the whole mankind and these issues should be contested collectively.
