LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday remanded a police inspector and his accomplice in Derrick Cyprian's murder case in custody for a week. Inspector Ali Imran Niazi and Adnan were produced in the court handcuffed. Prosecutor Rana Bakhtiar Ali said that police needed physical remand of the accused because a car and Rs 3 million were yet to be recovered from them. Defence counsel said that police had recovered all looted money according to news published in the press and there was no justification for physical remand. The prosecutor said that news published in the press lacked testimonial value. Cyprian, former federal minister for minorities, culture and sports, had gone missing from Defence Housing Authority on August 6 and his body was found in a drain in Manga Mandi on August 9. staff report
