PCP sources in Islamabad confirmed that Lord Bishop Ali expressed no concern on Christian persecution and repeal of blasphemy laws. He remained silent on comments by Prime Minster that Christians have representation in Senate of Pakistan along with other democratic institutions. According to APP "Lord Bishop Ali said Pakistanis living in Britain were encouraged by President General Pervez Musharraf's vision of enlightened Moderation. He acknowledged the country's economic progress, adding that Pakistanis in the UK were proud of this development" It's also revealed that Lord Bishop Michael Nazir Ali expressed his satisfaction on religious harmony in Pakistan and equal rights for minorities" According to government statement " The prime minister preached while talking to Lord Michael Nazir Ali at the prime minister's house that Islam is a religion of peace" PM added, "There is no room for discrimination based on religion, race or creed in Islam ".
