Mr. Nisar Khan, Chairman, Impatient Friends condemned killing of Salamat Samuel by police in Lahore Hospital who was booked under blasphemy laws. He said “Kidnapping of Pastor Wilson Fazal from Quetta is very serious threat to safety of life and property of Christian leaders in Pakistan when two religious leaders have been shot dead by terrorists in 2004. Mr. Nazir s Bhatti stressed upon government of Pakistan to end Objective Resolution as preamble of constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. He said “Objective Resolution have created complications to interpret the Constitution and is against the ideology of Pakistan because Pakistan was Promised Land for all religious communities not for Muslims only” Mr. Bhatti added “Objective Resolution have created hatred among religious communities and damaged the justice system in Pakistan. The parallel judicial systems on Pakistan Penal Code and Islamic laws are in practice in Pakistan now due to adoption of this resolution” Talking to press Mr. Nazir Bhatti said “Separate electorate was never root cause of apartheid in Pakistan society nor it was against universal adult franchise. On other hand Joint Electorate is un democratic when Muslim parties grab the Christian vote bank and select Christian members on reserved seats in parliament” He said Joint electorate have turned Christians to be second class citizen and Dual voting rights with Separate Electorate can bring Christians in mainstream politics’ Mr Nazir Bhatti said ‘ Articles 41(2), Article 51(A), Article 203(D), Article 42, Article 227 of Islamic Republic of Pakistan have turned Christians to be third class citizen in Pakistan not the Separate Elections. The Christians demand amendment in the said articles of constitutions to ensure basic equal democratic rights in Pakistan. He invited all Christian’s leaders in Pakistan to press upon government to repeal these articles. Mr. Bhatti expressed grave concern on Christian’s killings and kidnapping in Pakistan. He demanded security and safety of Christians in Pakistan.
