Saturday killing of Baloch shopkeeper Shah Jahan Kurd, allegedly by the infamous I.S.I. sponsored death squad of Shafiq Mengal has left the entire Baloch nation in angst and outrage.

“I am sad and outraged over the cold blooded killing of Shahjahan Kurd,” Waleed Bizenjo wrote in an Urdu post on Facebook, “He was an extremely decent, kind hearted and hardworking man…. He had nothing to do with any uprising and he was totally invested in raising his kids and his nephews.”

Nobel prize-nominee Dr Mahrang Baloch, who is expected to become the first woman founder of a state when Balochistan emerges on the world map in the near future, confirmed what Mr. Bizenjo said. She said Kurd was neither involved in politics nor any rights struggle..

The suspect behind the Saturday killing of Shah Jahan Baloch is the blue-eyed boy of the infamous I.S.I. Shafiq Mengal. The death squad he heads is regarded as the I.S.I.’s B team in the Khuzdar area. He was mostly used as an attack dog against former chief minister of Balochistan, Sardar Akhtar Mengal.

Dr Baloch who is a nominee for Nobel prize— last year she was named TIME 100 Emerging Leaders and also BBC 100 Women—, because of her peaceful struggle, said Kurd’s elder brother Zahid Kurd was forcibly disappeared from Khuzdar March 18, 2014.

Zahid Kurd aka Zahid Baloch was chairman of the Baloch Students Organization (Azad). His brother, Salim Baloc, who is studying in London, fondly tweets about him, “I’m waiting for a usual day without having a thought of your return, like the old days, and from a random street I catch you with a heartfelt smile calling me by a newly invented name. Miss your guidance Kopag (shoulder).”

Nothing is known about Zahid Baloch since his kidnapping 11 years ago.

Dr Mahrang Baloch in her tweet in Urdu lamented, “In Balochistan, the state not only gets rid of those who express dissent and criticize the dismal human rights situation, but also does not spare even their totally apolitical relatives.”

Dr Baloch— the Joan of Arc of Balochistan — who is expected to become the prime minister of a free Balochistan, said so far this year more than three dozen Baloch have been killed by the Pakistan security forces and allied death squads.

Pank, human rights wing of the pro-liberation party of commoners, Baloch National Movement, condemned the extrajudicial killing of Shah Jahan Baloch. It pointed out as many as 18 extrajudicial killings took place in February alone in Balochistan.

Balochistan has been in the grip of a tsunami of human rights violations for nearly two decades now since the killing of former Governor and chief minister, Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti. But U.S. State Department and the Central Intelligence Agency have been doing business with the worst violators of human rights in Balochistan such as the I.S.I. and Military Intelligence, in violation of U.S. laws that prohibit such engagement.

Yousuf Kurd, A brother of ShahJahan Kurd, who was member of a pro-liberation militia, died defending his motherland in an armed clash in 2020.

Yet a fifth brother Shamir Kurd is still with a pro- liberation militia in the rugged mountains of Balochistan with the goal to eject Pakistan jihadi soldiers from his homeland.

“I really feel sorry for the victim’s mother for losing her three sons,” said London-based lawyer Shayak Bizenjo, who has Naal links and personally knew the victim. The victim’s mother is also from the Bizenjo tribe.

Shayak Bizenjo said the killing was part of the Deep State machination to terrorize the public in the backdrop of a daring train hijacking by the Baloch Liberation Army March 11. The B.L.A. asked Pakistan government to release all the Baloch prisoners of war in Pakistan military custody for in exchange for the Pakistani PoWs but prime minister Shehbaz Sharif, who acts as spokesman for highly unpopular army chief Gen. Asim Munir, said the militants will be crushed. The defenders of the Baloch homeland then executed the 214 Pakistan soldiers. Islamabad is trying to hide those killings so as to avoid public backlash against its occupation policies in Balochistan.
