Breaking News: Supreme Court of Pakistan orders to re-open Rimsha Masih blasphemy case
ISLAMABAD: March 22, 2013. (Shamim Masih): Supreme Court of Pakistan accepted the Rimsha’s accuser to seek to re-open her case.
Earlier on January 16, 2013, when Supreme Court (SC) had dismissed a final appeal in against Rimsha Masih in her blasphemy case, effectively ending all legal proceedings on the issue.
On 22nd March, the bench of three judges headed by Justice Tasdaq Hussain Gilani has order to precede the case again.
According to the sources, Rimsha’s complaint has filed an application in the apex court to review the decision of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), which is accepted by the SC.
Earlier Islamabad High Court (IHC) had removed all charges against Rimsha.
It’s amazing that council of Rimsha was not seen in the court today, and it is doubted that if case is not handled properly. It may open new chapter in the history of Blasphemy cases in Pakistan.
