Sindh Health Department sacks alleged rapist MLO

KARACHI: July 18, 2010. (Daily Times) The Sindh Health Department on Saturday issued a notification sacking the medico-legal officer of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC)

suspected of raping a nursing student, while Judicial Magistrate South Abdul Qadir remanded him into the custody of police until July 20. The accused Dr Abdul Jabbar Memon was allegedly involved in a rape case of a third-year student Magdalene Ashraf at the JPMC and was booked at the Saddar police station in FIR No 332/10 under Section 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Dr Seemin Jamali when contacted told the nurse was now out of danger and could recognise people. However, Investigation Officer Mubashir claimed that due to her unconscious state, she was not able to record a statement
