Pope Benedict concerned over Iraq Christians

Vatican City: July 03, 2010. Pope Benedict XVI uttered hopes on Friday that Iraqis will form a government in Iraq in order to build a stable and unified country.

While receiving Iraq new ambassador to Vatican Mohammad Hadi Ali Al Sadr Pope said he hopes that the new Iraqi government will soon be formed in order to realize the dream of the hopes of Iraqi people about living in a stable and unified Iraq. Iraqis proved that they have courage and perseverance when they headed to polling stations last March in spite of the attempts to terrify them, Pope stressed saying that the new government should give the priority to help the minorities. Pope also uttered concern over the fate of the Christians in Iraq and hoped that those who were impelled to leave their country will get the chance to go back there soon.
