Karachi: November 10, 2009. (PCP) After successful “All Parties Christian Conference to end Blasphemy law” in Rawalpindi on October 25, 2009, Pakistan Christian Congress PCC

have decided to hold a seminar in Karachi to press for demand to repeal blasphemy law in January 2010. The session called by religious ministry of government of Pakistan to draft amendment in blasphemy law on October 12, 2009, failed to reach on any conclusion and same was postponed for January 2010. The said meeting was attended by Hindu, Christian and Ahmedi selected members in National Assembly of Pakistan and four provincial assemblies. The dispute aroused when Shahbaz Bhatti, Federal Minister for Minorities stressed to proposed amendment in blasphemy law while PML(Q) and Ahmedi parliamentarians demanded repeal of law. The blasphemy law legislated in 1986, victimized Christians and Ahmedi Muslims and more than two thousand cases were registered under section 298, 295 B and C PPC of blasphemy law in Pakistan. The Ahmedi community leadership successfully bagged refugee status for their sect and re-located their headquarter from Rabbwa in Punjab, Pakistan to West Coast of Africa. The Ahmedi Muslims sold out their agricultural lands, bossiness and other properties in Pakistan and settled in West. There is very handful of Ahmedi community in Pakistan after Fourth Amendment in Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan of 1973, and legislation of blasphemy law. The Ahmedi Community have few thousands of registration in voters list of Election Commission of Pakistan while Christians have more than million in voter list. Pakistan Christian Congress PCC also filed petition with United Nations to award refugee status to Christians on February 2009, but decision is still awaited. The 20 million Christians are facing constitutional genocide when Muslim majority conspires to snatch their right of son of soil. The legislation of blasphemy law have resulted in violence and killing of Christians and persecution. Pakistan Christian Congress PCC filed a petition in Lahore High Court to repeal blasphemy law in 1998, which was dismissed by a Division Bench headed by Chief Justice of LHC. The review petition was filed in Federal Sharia Court Islamabad and Supreme Court of Pakistan which were also dismissed. PCC launched movement against blasphemy law when many organizations were silent due to fear of Muslims. The demand to repeal blasphemy law was presented by memorandums to government of Pakistan and other International forums. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, talking to Pakistan Christian Congress PCC Central Coordination Council discussed the current situation in Pakistan and directed PCC leaders to organize second phase of “All Parties Christian Conference to end blasphemy law’ in Karachi in January 2010. It was decided that after Karachi Conference, PCC President Nazir S Bhatti will present memorandum to repeal blasphemy to all heads of member states of United Nation. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC said “PCC will file a lawsuit in Supreme Court of Pakistan to repeal blasphemy law as final option to push away this law which is contradictory to basic fundamental rights guaranteed in constitution of Pakistan” PCC is in process of discussion with leading advocates of Pakistan to file lawsuit to repeal blasphemy law in Supreme Court of Pakistan “We invite clergy and other civil society organizations to join PCC to file lawsuit to repeal blasphemy law in Supreme Court of Pakistan and join united movement of public awareness to end this controversial law” said Nazir Bhatti PCC chief praised movement of AsiaNews to repeal blasphemy law and urged other international media to join this campaign to safe 20 million Pakistani Christians from atrocities and legislation of Muslim majority in Pakistan which is leading to total genocide.
