Taliban injure Pastor in a kidnap attempt on busy road of Karachi

Karachi: July 2, 2009. (PCP) Pastor Eric was coming back home from Essa Nagri near Expo Centre Karachi with his mother when four Taliban tried to kidnap him

First they hold Gun on him while he was sitting on driving seat and his mother on front seat. One of them snatched his chain from his neck, grab the mobile and cash from his pockets, tried to grab his wedding ring but it was tight in his finger and then ask him to come out from the car. As he comes out and they tried to take him on the other side of road during this time Rev. Eric tried to hold Gun man's hand and they fell on the road. During this situation other attackers beat him but because it was on busy road that's why traffic stopped and other by standers gather together due to this fighting. The other ran away but that gun man was grabbed by Rev. Eric and crowd handed over that person to police. Rev. Eric Sarwar is a Secretary of Karachi Presbytery of Presbyterian church of Pakistan and Director of 'TSCM"Tehillim School Of Church Music and Worship. He is involved with mission in Pakistan through TSCM. Rev. Sarwar is admitted in local hospital with broken fingers and leg.
