Suicide bomber attacks Inter-Provincial Games venue in Peshawar killing 3 and injuring 7.
Pakistan: November 11, 2008. Suicide bomber here attacked the closing ceremony of Inter-Provincial Games at Qayyum Stadium Peshawar cantonment this evening killing 3 and injuring 7 persons.
According to police a suicide bomber blew him up outside sports stadium when Senior Minister of NWFP left few minutes before blast while two provincial ministers were in venue with more than twenty thousand game lovers.
Peshawar is gateway to Afghanistan and provincial capital of NWFP and under pressure of Taliban and Al Quida to capture this city. The militants attacked Pakistan Air Force runway with rockets last week and tried to surround last month.
Many cars were damaged and glasses of surrounding buildings were shattered on blast.
