I have written to UN, Human Right and others about ban on Pakistan Christian Post by government of Pakistan. By Nazir Bhatti
I have emailed to United Nation Geneva office, Human Right Watch and some diplomats in United Nations to raise voice against imposition of ban on Pakistan Christian Post in jurisdiction of Pakistan through PTCL which covers all search engines in Pakistan.
Pakistan Christian Post was commissioned in 2001 from New York as only media for Christians in Pakistan along with minorities of South Asia. It was in print media also from 2003-2006 and widely circulated in Pakistan. The print edition was suspended but Internet edition is working till today.
Herewith is email sent to different Forums today;
Respected Sir,
Sub: Pakistan Christian Post a minority News online banned by government of Pakistan.
I, the Editor of Pakistan Christian Post wish to bring in your kind notice that Pakistan Christian Post was commissioned in 2001 from New York to highlight issues of 25 million Christians of Pakistan and South Asian minorities in general. It was printed weekly and couriered to four cities of Pakistan from 2003-2006. It is widely viewed by people of Pakistan to know incidents of persecution and human right situation but unfortunately came under attack by government of Pakistan from time to time.
After 2022, during PTI regime it was restricted on all search engines governed by PTCL. I approached Chairman PTCL of government of Pakistan, different information ministers and military officials but none of them responded to my requests to remove Pakistan Christian Post from restrictions.
Its 2026, but still its banned in Pakistan, So, i request your honor to put pressure on government of Pakistan to lift ban on Pakistan Christian Post and not victimize minorities under censorship as its to seal voice of minorities in Pakistan.
Thanks
