Chandigarh: February 23, 2018. (PCP) Silk India Expo, An unique silk exhibition is held where more than 200 weavers of India are exhibiting various kind of silk at Himachal Bhavan. The exhibition showcases the blend of hand woven fabric from different states of India. Silk Expo is an exhibition cum sale of different state-specific genuine textiles and the product mix include Silk Saree, Dress Material, Home Furnishings, Dupatta, Shawl, Stoles and Scarf etc.
The art of handloom weaving has traditional values attached to it and each region has exquisite varieties. The uniqueness of silk products such as Pochampalli, Paithani, Kanjivaram, Banarasi, Jamdani, Baluchari, and Ikkat, to name a few are attracting customers across the globe with exclusive weaves, designs and traditional motifs. All the exhibitors at the Silk Fab are displaying the 'Handloom Mark' and 'Silk Mark' tag on the products and thus aim to improve the earnings of the handloom weaver community. The exhibition will continue till 25th Feb 10:30 AM to 9 PM.
