New Delhi: June 23, 2017. (PCP) A Muslim Police officer DSP Mohammad Ayub Pandith was attacked, tortured and lynched to death by Muslim worshipers on taking photographs in front of Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta area of Srinagar after Muslims Holy Night Layl-ul-qadr prayers. Police later dispersed the crowd by firing into the air and recovered Pandith's battered body lying nearby Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party expressed deep shock on the act of heinous murder of a young police officer, Mohd. Ayub Pandith today in front of Jamia Masjid, Nowhatta in Srinagar when there was no such situation in the area. Prof.Bhim Singh urged President of India to act according to the mandate of the Constitution of India without delay as any more delay shall prove a disaster for the unity and integrity of the entire nation---India. Prof.Bhim Singh said that some undesirable and unwanted elements from across the border have cross lined into the State with a definite plan to create chaos, disorder and lawlessness in J&K with a dangerous plan to disintegrate India. That needs to be checked forthwith. The only way out, NPP Supremo said, is to dismiss a government in J&K which has no control over the situation which is evident today that a senior police officer was lynched to death in broad day light in the presence of armed policemen and civil society. Prof.Bhim Singh also urged Shri Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India to think of the Nation, the people and India’s unity and act in accordance to the need of the nation this time. President’s Rule is the only solution. Prof.Bhim Singh made a strong appeal to the people in Kashmir Valley, particularly the youth to avoid violence and think of the Eid which is coming only after two days. He strongly urged the youth of Kashmir to wave flowers in their hands to greet their friends and neighbourers. The guns are not to be used on the eve of Eid. He reminded fellow brethren in Kashmir. Prof.Bhim Singh expressed heartfelt condolences to the family members of Mohd. Ayub Pandith.
