Chandigarh: March 17, 2017. (PCP) An Exhibition was organized by the Department of Home Science, Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector-26 on 17th March, 2017. There was a display of wide ranging items including Handiwork, cutlery, food and colorful dresses made by the students of the Department.
Articles made by block painting and embroidery were displayed and appreciated by all. Delicacies such as cakes, chaat, cutlets etc. were relished by the staff and students of the college.
Principal Dr. Charanjeet Kaur Sohi applauded the efforts of the students and emphasized the importance of Home Science as a useful discipline.
Meanwhile, A one day workshop was organized by the Department of Fine Arts in collaboration with NSS wing of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector-26. The main focus of the Worksop was to make the students aware about the cruelty against farm animals.
The key speaker for the day was Mrs. Swarnali Roy from Humane Society International, India, who dwelt upon the need for protecting animals in Labs, Farms, Wildlife and improving Street Dogs Welfare. She also explained the various emotions that animals go through before they are cut for consumption by human beings.
