Lahore: January 2, 2017. (By Qaisar Loudhi) Peter John is in a very unsafe condition in United Arab Emirates at the moment. This is all because of his passion of working for the Christian community staying in Dubai from different parts of the world. He is working in an international bank as Manager, Business Development and doing religious activities since he have arrived here in UAE with my family.
He has been chased by many unknown people via phone calls, facebook, while driving home and roaming around with his family. Many times he have received calls from unknown people threatening him to stop all his religious activities immediately or face dire consequences. but cannot stop all these activities and he feels this is God’s call for him. But he is worried for his family as his children are small and he wants to secure their future. And he would also like them to continue what he is doing for the Christian community.
He started working for social and religious organization when he was quite young in Karachi, name of the organization is Catholic Social Services where he worked as Animator Jan 1996 to 1999, he have been working with RASTI – Research and Social Training Institute, Karachi as Trainer . Then he moved to Lahore when he joined Presbyterian Church and started developing youth group and choir. They had been able to arrange several seminars, activities and awareness program where country’s renowned preachers and singers participated. They use to publish and circulate a magazine name “Deedgha” to spread the Word of God. At that time he was working in banking sector. Whenever he shared his activities with his colleagues in a casual mode, they opposed him, tried to convert him and made lobby to kick him out the company. He had been facing many challenges while working as In charge Auto Loan Department in a very well knows Bank Alfalah Islamic Bank. he was also forced to do Diploma in Islamic Banking as he had to survive. They so pushed to the edge that he had to leave Pakistan and move to UAE. They also threatened him not to come back to Pakistan or face dire consequences. he and his family didn’t go to Pakistan for 5 years as he was scared to send his family back.
When he moved to UAE, he joined same banking sector (Barclays ‘Bank). He never wanted to leave the passion for the community. He used to go to Church of Pakistan, Abu Dhabi where he took part in Choir and youth activities. He was chosen to be Secretary Church of Pakistan.
