Washington, DC: December 5, 2016. (PCP) IDC's Colorado chapter led by President of the Colorado Chapter Brett Manero is organizing a screening of the documentary 'Our Last Stand', on December 6th at 9:00 pm at the Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, CO as their first major kick-off event to as the chapter expands its membership and its local advocacy efforts for the protection and preservation of Christianity in the Middle East. Directed by IDC Production and Media Consultant Jordan Allott, and Produced by In Altum Productions, the one hour documentary in partnership with IDC sheds the light on Christians' persecution in the Middle East through the eyes of Helma, an Assyrian American activist from New York who goes on a journey to Iraq and Syria, bringing back untold stories of sufferings, hopes, despair, courage, and demands. IDC's Colorado Chapter has already made a significant impact on their state legislature. In April of this year, the chapter introduced House resolution 16-1013 "Concerning Atrocities Against Christians and Other Ethnic and Religious Minorities." The resolution passed unanimously in the Colorado House and Senate earlier this year. Members of the Colorado Congressional delegation have responded to our chapter members and raised their voices about the persecution of our Christian brothers and sisters in the Middle East. Governor John Hickenlooper, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, federal and state legislators of Colorado, local religious leaders, and representatives of ecumenical organizations and diaspora communities have been invited to meet members of IDC's Colorado Chapter at this event. The screening will be followed by a Q & A session with IDC Executive Director Philippe Nassif, Senior Advisor Kirsten Evans, President of Colorado chapter Brett Manero and Producer and Director of Our Last Stand Jordan Allott. Mr. Nassif and Mr. Allott will both be available to answer any press inquiries.
