Balochistan: November 13, 2016. (PCP) Muslim Sufi Saint Shrine Shah Noorani situated in far flung area of rural Balochistan came under suicide attack when hundreds of pilgrims from Karachi and other cities were offering prayers in compound of shrine.
A suicide bomber blasted when pilgrims were passionately dancing killing dozens and injuring hundreds without any medical assistance for hours due to hilly passage causing obstacle to reach medical teams to rescue.
It is 3rd sad incident of suicide bombing in Balochistan province of Pakistan within two months which is under military operation over a decade; Quetta suicide attack killed large number of lawyers in Civil Hospital while militants killed 60 police officers in Police Training Center Quetta. The Shah Noorani attack is 3rd attack killing worshipers.
A province practically ruled by Pakistan Army to crush militancy of nationalist for freedom seems failing to end terrorisms in Balochistan which is creating feelings on insecurity among Balochi people who are supporting armed forces.
According to Reuters, this second deadly attack in Pakistan claimed by Islamic State's leadership in a month shows a swift rise of the movement by partnering with local sectarian groups, analysts say, even as an official on Sunday denied IS has a Pakistan presence.
Islamic State's Arabic-language news service in the Middle East claimed responsibility for the bombing of a Muslim shrine on Saturday, which killed 52 people and wounded scores more in the southwestern Pakistani province of Baluchistan.
The blast at Shah Noorani shrine, in a remote area about 100 km (62 miles) north of the port city of Karachi, happened while hundreds of people were inside. It followed an attack on a police academy on Oct 24 in the same province that was jointly claimed by IS and a Pakistani sectarian faction, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Al Alami.
