Chandigarh; September 16, 2016. (PCP) A Poem-Recitation competition was organized by the Department of Hindi, Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector-26, Chandigarh, to Celebrate Hindi Diwas. The event was held with a purpose to promote Hindi Language in a rapidly modernizing world.
Prof. Anita Walia, Head, Dept. of Home Science, was the Chief Guest for the Day. Prof. Suparna Randhawa from the Dept. of Public Administration and Dr. Savneet Bedi, from the Dept. of Psychology, were the Judges for the competition.
Around 35 students recited the poems on and around the main theme. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes by the college Principal, Dr. Charanjeet Kaur Sohi. Komal (B.A II), Bunty (B.A III) and Arpita (B.A III) got First, Second and Third Positions respectively.
