Hunger Strike of MQM leaders enter third day

Image
Karachi: August 19, 2016. (PCP) Muttahida Qaumi Movement leaders are staging hunger strike till death in front of Karachi Press Club against Sindh Rangers arrest, torture and extra judicial killing of MQM workers and activists in false and fabricated cases from three days. However, MQM senior leader Farooq Sattar had clarified that the hunger strike camp was not only organised against the arrests of the six party workers rather they were protesting against “injustice in the province”. Sattar was of the view that his party wanted an end to political bashing and victimisation in Sindh being practised against MQM only. He said the party leadership was unable to understand how an unwanted person overnight becomes wanted. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah after taking notice of the hunger strike ordered the release of the held MQM workers on Thursday and even made a phone call to the provincial opposition leader Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan urging him to end his party’s hunger strike at the earliest since their demands were met.
