Quetta: August 19, 2016. (PCP) Hundreds of citizen of Afghanistan marched towards Pak-Afghan border “Friendship Gate” near Chaman city of Pakistan chanting slogans against Pakistan and burning Pakistani flag. The Afghan protestors pelted stones of Pak-Afghan border gate voicing in favour of Indian Prime Minister Modi statement about Balochistan, Gilgit-Balistan and POK which was widely condemned by Pakistani government. The Balochistan government arranged protests in different cities of Balochistan to condemn statement of PM Modi yesterday and termed it interference in internal affair of Pakistan and supporting terrorism in Balochistan. The Pakistan government accuses India and Afghanistan to support terrorists in Balochistan and RAW network in this province. The Balochistan province is under control of Pakistan Armed Forces since 2002 when freedom fighters launched campaign to free Balochistan. The International and National media of Pakistan is banned to walk freely in Balochistan and independently report on situation in far flung area of this province. It was noted that Security forces in Balochistan not allowed even Pakistani media to cover election process of 2013. According to Geo News, the Afghans in presence of their security forces pelted stones at the Bab-e-Dosti gate due to which the glass on the gate shattered. The angry protesters desecrated the Pakistan flag by burning it. Pakistan Frontier Corp in retaliation closed down the Bab-e-Dosti gate due to which trade across the border came to a complete halt. Long queues of NATO trucks and other vehicles formed at the border due to which traders faced immense difficulties. Modi had sparked controversy on the Indian Independence Day on August 15 when he had alleged that Pakistan was a supporter of ‘terrorism’ and that the people of Balochistan, Gilgit and Kashmir had thanked him in the past few days.
