Chandigarh: July 18, 2016. (PCP) The inaugural function of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sec-26, Chandigarh was held today in Mata Ganga Auditorium, seeking the blessings of almighty for the new session 2016-17.
The Shabad Kirtan was recited on the occasion. The Principal, Dr. Charanjeet Kaur Sohi, formally welcomed the fresher’s and explained the college motto ‘Vidya Vichaari Taan Paropkari’ to the students. She urged them to follow the path of self-righteousness and never to deviate from the chosen path of truth.
Keeping in view the declining moral values in the present society, the principal stressed on the need to follow the teachings of the Sikh Gurus in our day to day life. She also highlighted the achievements of the college and motivated the students to strive for excellence in all academic as well as extracurricular activities and made the new students aware about the rules and regulations of the college. The college timetable was displayed and students made a note of their classes.
