Incidents of Honor Killing rising in Sindh: Mansoor Khaskheli

Hyderabad: July 4, 2016. (PCP) Central Chairman of the Sindhi Sangat Sindh Mansoor Khaskheli has said murders of Sindhi women in the name of Karo-Kari are rapidly increasing in Sindh, Pakistan. Honour killing is a heinous crime against humanity. Recently Shiza Rajput was burnt by her husband in Mirpurkhas, Sindh, Pakistan. Sindhi Sangat Sindh strongly condemned Mirpurkhas incident. In an issued press release on Monday, Central Chairman of the Sindhi Sangat Sindh Mansoor Khaskheli has said murders of Sindhi women in the name of Karo-Kari are rapidly increasing in Sindh, Pakistan. According to the statistics from the Human Rights organizations & HRCP 1096 women were brutally killed in the name of Honour Killing, more than 300 cases of Domestic Violance and 70 to 80% women were the victims of mentally & physically violence in Pakistan in 2015. 1,005 honor killings were reported in Pakistan in 2014, with the victims including 923 women and 82 minor girls, compared to the 869 cases in 2013 cited in the commission’s 2013 report. Chairman Sindhi Sangat Sindh further said Sindhi women are being victimized. Sindhi Hindu girls are the victims of forced religious conversion. Every year several cases of forced religious conversions reported in Sindh, Pakistan. But in the most cases culprits often go unpunished therefore such incidents are continuously increasing. Sindhi Sangat Sindh demands suspects involved in such crime must be punished, Government takes immediate steps to stop increasing crime of Karo-Kari (honour killing) in Sindh, Pakistan
