Canada is land of love says Ahmadiyya leader marking 50th anniversary
Toronto: May 9, 2016. (PCP) Addressing gathering of Ahmadiyya Muslims at Nathan Square here on Sunday during celebration of 50th anniversary in Canada, Mr. Lal Khan Malik who is President of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamat Canada said “This is our home, and this is the land we love”
On call of Mr. Malik, the thousands of Ahmadiyya members in Square collected large amount to help displaced by wildfire from Alberta province.
Sunday’s event included speeches from Mayor John Tory and Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne.
Tory called Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Canada “a community committed to building Canada.”
Wynne remarked they have made “the community strong.”
Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Canada launched a campaign late in 2014 to fight youth radicalization. That announcement came following the killing of two soldiers on Canadian soil by homegrown jihadists.
