37th Annual Convocation at GGSCW

Chandigarh: April 27, 2016. (PCP) Post Graduate Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh organized its 37th Annual Convocation in the college premises here on April 27th 2016. H.E. Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Hon'ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T Chandigarh was the Chief Guest and Shri Parimal Rai, I.A.S. was the Guest of Honour. After the introduction of the Staff, the Chief Guest along with Academic Procession entered the hall to the melodious tunes of Sitar played by the college students. The ceremony commenced with the National Anthem. Col (Retd.) J.S Bala (Secretary, Sikh Educational Society) welcomed the Chief Guest. College Principal Dr. Charanjeet Kaur Sohi accorded floral welcome to the Chief Guest and presented the annual report of the college highlighting the achievements and activities of the college faculty and students. Total 424 Degrees were conferred by the Chief Guest on the occasion to the students of M.Com, MA, MSc.(IT), BA, B.Com, BCA. The Chief Guest, His Excellency in his convocation address, felicitated the degree holders and wished them success in their future endeavors. He praised Guru Gobind Singh Ji's teachings and the motto of the college which is " shubh karman te kabhu na taroo (May I never refrain from the righteous acts)." He emphasized on the importance of fearlessness which is imperative in shaping the character of the young minds. At the end he praised the institution for its excellence and encouraged the students to become the bright future of the nation.
