New Delhi: April 22, 2016. (PCP) Addressing a huge gathering of youth and intellectuals of different parts of country (India) who had gathered at India’s Jantar Mantar identified with Hyde Park Corner in London, Prof.Bhim Singh, a human rights lawyer of international repute and political activist in India called on the Secretary-General of the United Nations to convene an urgent meeting of the representatives of the global NGOs, preferably in India, to work out a global strategy to defeat the menace of international terrorism and spineless violence to curb the seedlings of global violence so that the peace shall conquer over all forms of violence and hatred in the world. Prof.Bhim Singh who travelled around the world for five years on motorcycle on peace mission (1967-1973) under the banners of world peace council of Indian students called on the world leaders and members of the United Nations to join hands to promote global peace so that the seedlings of hatred and violence are destroyed particularly in the backward pockets of the world where violence has dominated the human race and peace stands threatened. Prof.Bhim Singh said that he has visited Iraq several times, made films on the contribution of the Iraqis in the field of science, sports and international friendship under the leadership of President Saddam Hussain. He accused the power hungry leadership in the western world under the control of USA and UK which has been responsible for spreading the seeds of hatred and igniting the flames to perish the human race. Prof.Bhim Singh called on all peace loving people of the world in the East and the West to condemn the highly heinous crimes like executing 250 girls in Iraq only a day back. Iraq was a great civilization, a holy seat of Karbala which transcends the great message of sacrifice for the truth and human justice has this most horrifying message to the world. The Arabs, Bhim Singh said, he knew personally who has spent nearly 10 years in the company of the Arabs from Baghdad to Morocco and Khartoum to Palestine and is convinced that Arabs belong to one of the greatest civilizations which has been fighting for peace and justice for centuries. The only tragedy they are confronting is the imposition of Zionist State of Israel since 1948. Prof.Bhim Singh said that these are the enemies of peace, humanity and global co-existence of humanity who have been killing peace by sacrificing the innocent children and people wherever they get a chance to challenge the humanity. Prof.Bhim Singh warned that the United Nations shall meet the same ends that the League of Nations in forties if the United Nations fails to discharge its compassionate duty towards peace and humanity. He also called on the great religion and religious heads in the world to hold an international meeting, preferably in India, to condemn the international brutalism and join hands to spread the global message for international peace and human welfare. Prof.Bhim Singh declared that he shall constitute a committee of 21-members from different parts of the world who shall work jointly for the promotion of humanism, peace and tolerance so that world shall survive longer.
