USA: March 28, 2016. (PCP) COPAA President Nasir Javed and Board Members in a statement have said “We are deeply saddened by the loss of innocent lives in Lahore Pakistan. Our heart goes out to families of the victims and our prayers are with them in this hour of need. This tragic event should not have happened and everything that needs to be done must be done to prevent this from happening in future. The Council of Pakistan American Affairs (COPAA) condemns the barbaric suicide attack that occurred on Sunday March 27, 2016 in Lahore Pakistan at the children's park, Glushan-i-Iqbal, where a large number of families especially women and children were present. The blast was just outside the exit gate and a few feet away from children's swings. At least 69 people were killed and over 250 were injured. A sad day in the history of a historic city, Lahore, Pakistan. COPAA extends its deepest condolences to the victims, their families, and all those affected by this tragedy. It is evident that now more than ever, we must work together to counter extremism. Our heavy hearts are with the families of the victims.
