KARACHI: December 18, 2015. (PCP) MQM nominated Mayor of Karachi Waseem Akhtar invites on various parties to join hands for development of Karachi.
While, talking to media at Karachi airport after being arrived from London, he said that he would served the citizens of the biggest city of the country without any discrimination.
The MQM leader, who is poised to raise as a mayor after his party won majority in the recently held municipal polls, invited Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Pakistan Peoples Party PPP and Awami National Party ANP to fortify MQM’s hands to restore powers of the local government in order to bring prosperity in the city.
Waseem Akhtar said that he intended to talk to the Sindh government on the matter, adding that MQM would move court and assemblies in case the issue was not resolved.
On this occasion, senior deputy convener of the party Dr Farooq Sattar said that local government and local institutions are the future of the country. He also expressed that he is hopeful that the Sindh government would support to strengthen the mayor to resolve problems of the public.
