Newly appointed Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi urges media and citizens to refrain from sharing “negative narratives”
Karachi: On March 15, newly appointed Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi called on the media and citizens to refrain from sharing “negative narratives” when discussing Karachi, Sindh or Pakistan.
“Do not speak negatively about my country, my province, or my provincial capital Karachi. This is my request,” he said. He emphasized the need to distinguish genuine reporting from propaganda.
Governor Hashmi, representing the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), appealed to the public to avoid turning his role into that of an “entertainer” and to respect his position as a “political worker.” He stressed that while personal critiques were acceptable, negative comments about Pakistan, Sindh, or Karachi would not be tolerated.
