Canada: November 13, 2015. (PCP) On Sunday November 15th, J Space Canada is hosting a conference in Toronto entitled"For Israel's Sake: The Vital Role of Progressive Zionists in Canada." The Jewish Defence League is very concerned of the participation from the Israeli Consulate General, who will deliver the opening remarks (9:30 am) at this conference. The Jewish Defence League is calling on the Consulate General of Israel, D.J. Schneeweiss not to attend this misleading conference. The policies of J Space are similar to the anti-Israel policies of the European Union which call for boycotts of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. That BDS policy is counter to the policy of the Government of Canada and the Government of Israel. Peace Now is involved in the upcoming J SPACE conference this weekend. J SPACE claims that they oppose boycotting Israel. This is false. Peace now supports the European Union boycott of Israeli products. J SPACE has also given a platform to Peter Beinart who also called for a boycott of Israel and has justified the recent wave of terrorism there. The Government of Israel has called the European Union boycott anti-Semitic. Therefore, the Israeli Consulate General should not attend this Toronto conference.
