Football Tournament Organised by Voice For Peace and Justice Promotes Harmony and Unity in the Kashmir Valley

Srinagar: The picturesque TRC Synthetic Turf in Srinagar came alive with the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship as the 9th Edition of the Football Tournament unfolded amidst great enthusiasm. This remarkable event, organized by the Voice for Peace and Justice Organization, witnessed the participation of 32 teams from the Kashmir Valley, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and Spain.

The Secretary of the J&K Sports Council graced the magnificent inauguration ceremony and gave the competition its formal start. This event represented both the ability of athletics to bind together diverse cultures and the unity of nations.

Throughout the competition, teams engaged in fierce competition, with each game serving as proof of the world's nations' shared love of football. Although the games were fiercely contested, the true spirit of sportsmanship always came through. Along with showcasing the skills of the competitors, the competition promoted camaraderie and understanding among both players and spectators.

The pinnacle of this exciting journey was the final match that took place between FC Bandipora and FC Handwara Kupwara. The exhilarating match left the crowd in awe as the two teams showcased their skills and determination. The players' dedication was lauded by all, creating an unforgettable atmosphere on the field.

In addition to the fierce competition, the event offered a forum for harmony and cross-cultural interaction. Sports serve as a common language that can cross all barriers, and the event's inclusion of guest teams from Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and Spain gave it an international flavor.

The Voice for Peace and Justice Organization made sure that participants were having a fulfilling experience in addition to competing for the win. Every contest included a "Man of the Match," and the organization made a point of showing its concern for the welfare and comfort of its players by providing them with refreshments and uniforms.

The air was filled with cheers and congratulations as the final whistle blew and Arise FC Langate was declared the winner, which was evidence of the tournament's success. The winning teams and players received trophies, monetary awards, and commendations that embodied the spirit of the competition—unity, respect, and excellence.

Speaking to the players and spectators, the event's chief guest, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, praised the work of Voice For Peace and Justice and declared that the days of uncertainty and chaos are long gone, and that people are now living their lives fearlessly and showcasing their talents at various forums. He promised the youth of Kashmir every form of assistance and mentioned that both boys and girls actively participate in sporting activities there.

Jammu and Kashmir's Chief Secretary Shri Arun Kumar Mehta addressed the players through Video Conferencing and thanked everyone for helping the administration impose peace in Jammu and Kashmir. He spoke with the captains of both teams one-on-one, congratulated them both, and advised young people to avoid drug abuse. He added.

The president of Voice for Peace and Justice, Farooq Ganderbali, stated in a statement that his organization is committed to involving Kashmir's youth in nation-building as part of a campaign to engage the youth here. He also added that such events are organized to instill a sense of nationalism and sportsmanship.

The Voice for Peace and Justice Organization extended its sincere gratitude to all of the participants, supporters, and sponsors who helped make this event possible. We hope that the message of peace, harmony, and understanding spread long after the last goal was scored because that is what the organization wanted to accomplish with this competition.
