New Delhi: It was in 2005 when the media and some vested political interests were raising controversial slogans and the people were given the message that Kashmiries do not allow the National Flag to hoist in Kashmir. Prof.Bhim Singh, the then Chairman of J&K National Panthers Party started a peace march from Lal Quila (New Delhi) to Lal Chowk (Kashmir) with hundreds of youth activists of J&K. Every participant, men, women and political activists were carrying tri-colour flags in hands and reached Lal Chowk, Srinagar with tri-colours. There were lots of rumours, political slogans against the Panthers Party warning them not to enter Kashmir with the National Flag because the National Flag shall not be tolerated by Kashmiri Muslims.

Prof.Bhim Singh in a statement informed the nation that hundreds of Panthers Party workers both men and women and trade union activists marched to Kashmir with tri-colours in hands. Prof.Bhim Singh was standing on the top of the moving bus with tri-colour flag in hand and with him others were Mr.Sanjoy Sachdev, the then President, Delhi Pradesh Panthers Party, Mr. P.K. Ganju, journalist, Ms. Anita Thakur, the then Panthers Youth President and senior journalist, Ms. Nasreen Hamid from Uttar Pradesh. All were carrying the National Flag in their hands flying high.

 The caravan was followed by several motors as well as two-wheelers.

 The whole caravan was welcomed by Kashmiries, most Muslims men and women at every chowk on the road. When they reached Lal Chowk hundreds of local Kashmiri Muslims irrespective of their political parties were standing to welcome the tri-colour procession which has started from Lal Quila, New Delhi.

Prof.Bhim Singh reminded all those who have started creating kind of communal division in J&K. Some communal and political elements sponsored by BJP have also propagated in Jammu by forcibly raiding some political offices of some Kashmir-based political parties. He said that people of J&K in spite of Coronavirus (Covid-19) on the one hand and downgrading the State of J&K by converting into two Union Territories. The people of J&K including Ladakh shall no way be deviated from their secular path and brotherhood. They could not be changed even in 1947 when the entire India was divided and passing through most unfortunate situations.

 Prof.Bhim Singh appealed to the people of J&K that they should make it clear that no Kashmiri is against the Indian Flag including Dr. Farooq Abdullah. They are expressing anger in one way or the other against the so-called conversion of the 200 years old State of J&K into two Union Territories. Prof. Bhim Singh said that hold Assembly election today and allow a democratic government to emerge in J&K everybody shall see the National Flag with slogans of brotherhood, unity and India. Secularism is a faith in the heart and mind of people of J&K, residents of India.
