Chandigarh: June 9, 2019. (PCP) BJP state President Sanjay Tondon ji in Amid scorching heat served Chabeel at Apollo Hospital, Chabeel & Sukhmani Sahib Path organised by Apollo clinic at sector 8. BJP state president Sanjay Tondon and MC, sector 8 Maheshinder Sidhu was present at the event. All the staff members paid obeisance and listen to the hymns and psalms. Later, they participated in Chabeel serving with enthusiasm. Hundreds of patients, shopkeepers and passerby quenched their thirst at the moment.

Chabeel marks the remembrance to the torture meted out to Guru Arjan Dev Ji and finally the relief that river Ravi provided to him. Generally, on any other Gurparv, Langars are organized but on Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s martyrdom day when symbolically, Chabeels are set up on the roadsides to provide relief from the hot scorching sun to travelers.

This refreshing drink is served to the public to pass on the message that one should be eternally optimistic. Chabeel, a social service, is a sure way to soothe parched souls on a summer day.
