Chandigarh: January 19, 2019. (PCP) A RUSA sponsored Two-Day Capacity Building Workshop on SPSS and MS-EXCEL was organized by the Post Graduate Department of Economics of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh, on January 18 and January 19, 2019.
The Principal of the College, Dr. Jatinder Kaur welcomed the resource person Dr. Nitin Arora, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The aim of the workshop was to apprise the participants of the basic concepts of research methodology focusing on theoretical and practical inputs. The workshop focused on the formulation of research problem, formulation and testing of research hypothesis, conducting literature review, collection of data, selection of appropriate parametric and non-parametric statistical methods, Regression analysis and Factor analysis for analyzing data and interpretation of results.
The workshop received an overwhelming response from the faculty, students and research scholars of inter-disciplinary fields from the tricity area. As many as 120 participants attended the workshop and gained useful insights into statistical tools which will be applicable in their academic pursuits.
