Chandigarh: (PCP) Seven days NSS Special camp concluded today at Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, sector 26, Chandigarh. During the camp, the NSS volunteers participated in various activities like morning yoga sessions, visit to senior citizens home, Christmas celebration at Aashiana- An orphanage and adoption centre, organizing Langar at General Hospital Sector 16, Chandigarh as a part of ‘Pranam Shahida Nu’ activity, distributing thank you cards to public servants at Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh, ‘Joy of giving’ activity by distributing clothes to needy, organisng Flash Mob at Plaza Sector 17 Chandigarh to highlight Unity in Cultural Diversity, etc.
Volunteers also undertook a cleanliness drive and a rally on women empowerment at the adopted village Kishangarh. Various seminars and motivational talks by Mr. Bikram Rana, S.L.O. NSS and Dr. Manoj Bhambu were also organized during the camp.
The camp concluded with a seminar on ‘Breast Cancer Awareness’ by Dr. Harnoor Singh, Breast Radiologist from U.S.A. the valedictory speech was given by S. S.S. Virdi, member Sikh Educational Society- governing body of the college.
