New Delhi: September 25, 2018. (PCP) Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party strongly pleaded with the leadership of the Hurriyat Conference to consider their decision boycotting the Panchayat & Municipal elections in Kashmir Valley. He said that the Hurriyat Conference should expose the former ruling parties of J&K which have been robbing the people of the state for nearly seven decades and they are again playing tricks with the innocent people of Kashmir Valley by declaring so-called boycott of the Panchayat and Municipal elections. NPP Supremo reminded all the angry leadership in J&K including Hurriyat Conference leaders that he (Bhim Singh) himself spent several years in illegal detention in almost all the prisons of J&K only because he has been fighting through democratic means from the streets to the Supreme Court against the brutal rule of National Conference, PDP, Congress and now BJP also. NPP Supremo appealed the people of Kashmir Valley and particularly the youth to make full use of the absence of the anti-people political parties who have been beating the drums against Panchayat and Municipal elections for the reasons that they know that the new generation and the people shall not vote them in the panchayats or in the municipal elections. A successful municipal and panchayat elections shall certainly introduce new class/younger generation into the political field and that is the reason that the main political parties in J&K have started opposing election under the pretext of war against Article 35-A of the Constitution of India. He said Article 35-A the people of J&K should understand well/read well its meaning and its significance that it was introduced by the President of India (not by the Parliament) in 1954 only to legalize detention of Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah who was dismissed and removed from the job of Wazir-e-Azam of J&K in 1953. Prof.Bhim Singh appealed the younger generation to kindly come with open heart and open mind to discuss the effects of the suppressive Article 35-A (as amended) and understand that fundamental rights to us in J&K were denied that day on May 14, 1954 when Article 35-A was planted through an Ordinance which could not have lasted beyond six months. Prof.Bhim Singh made a strong appeal to the youth of Kashmir in particular to join hands with the youth of entire State of J&K in one voice that justice is our right and the election is our way at this time. Missing this election shall be a great loss to the people particularly the youth of the Valley.
