Washington DC: August 6, 2018. (PCP) The members of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom hosted a reception in support of the Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom, "Past, Present, and Future: Unprecedented Challenges and New Opportunities", on Wednesday July 25, 2018, 5-7 pm. American Sikh Council (ASC) representative Kavneet Singh attended the reception and met with several important delegates who have made it their mission to make sure countries around the world are held accountable in reference to religious discrimination and genocide, thereby holding them to higher standard of moral, ethical religious conduct. The honorable former Congressman Frank R.Wolf who has spearheaded and championed many causes including amended the IRF Act in 2016 to address implementation concerns which would better reflect the current conditions. He also spoke at the well-attended reception held at the beautiful U.S. Institute of Peace building located close to the White House. USCIRF designates countries as 'Country of Particular Concern – CPC' based on the seriousness of the religious persecution inside of the particular country. The countries committing the most egregious oppression as designated into the 'Tier 1' category and the one which are perceived to be a little less egregious are in 'Tier2' category. Currently India is designated in the 'Tier 2' category while India's proxy organizations out of Washington, DC are doing their best to portray India as a very peaceful nation with no religious persecution, ethnic cleansing, and/or genocide of any minority, in order to have USCIRF remove India off the 'Tier 2' category list permanently. Several foreign ministers and dignitaries were also present at this important event. Honorable Abid Q.Raja the Liberal party and the (fifth in seniority) Vice President of Norway; honorable Member of Parliament Aasiya Nasir a practicing Christian from Baluchistan (Pakistan) and several other senior ministers from Asia and Africa were present. Representatives of the Rohingyas - Muslim (Myanmar), Uyghurs - Muslim (Western China), Tibetans – Buddhist (China), Dalits (non-Hindu), Christians (India), Muslims (India) and several others persecuted minorities were also present. It was an eye-opener to hear the horrific stories first hand from those unheard voices sitting on the edges of our global society. US Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom, Sam Brownback another champion was also present at the function. White House and administration officials; former USCIRF Commissioners, all the staff from USCIRF and a few hundred other guests were present at reception.
