Report on Christmas Interfaith Harmony and Dialogue Celebration – Faisalabad, Pakistan. By Bishop Farhad S. Bhatti
The Christmas Interfaith Harmony and Dialogue celebration was held in Faisalabad, Pakistan, bringing together religious, spiritual leaders, scholars, peace ambassadors, and government representatives in a spirit of unity, respect, and national harmony.
During the event, Bishop Dr. Farhad S. Bhatti of the Episcopal Church offered a heartfelt prayer for the peace, stability, and prosperity of Pakistan, emphasizing the values of love, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence among people of all faiths. His prayer reflected the true spirit of Christmas—peace on earth and goodwill toward all.
The gathering was honored by the presence of Christian clergy from Faisalabad representing various denominations, including the Catholic Church (Father Khalid Rasheed Ashi and Bishop Indras Rehmat), the Presbyterian Church (Pastor Dr. Altaf and Bishop Shamas Pervaiz), the Church of God (Pastor Shaumon Saad), along with many other respected pastors, bishops, poets, scholars, and peace advocates. Distinguished participants included Poet Nazir Qasir, Professor Vincent Paas, Dr. Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi, Mahadin Masood Naqshbandi, Khalifa Jee Nasir Gill Naqshbandi, Dr. Nadeem Gill, Riaz Nam, and numerous other peace ambassadors and community leaders.
Senior representatives from other faith communities and government officials, including Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Mahendar Pal Singh, also participated, reflecting the inclusive and national character of the event.
The celebration was thoughtfully organized under the leadership of Shahibzada Shabir Ahmed Saddique (Lasani Sarkar), a prominent advocate of interfaith harmony and peace. Following the spiritual legacy of his respected father,Safi Masood Ahmed Saddique Lasani Sarkar’ s Shahibzada Shabir Ahmed Saddique continues to promote the guiding principle that “Humanity comes first, and religion serves to unite, not divide.” Through the Lasani Sarkar initiative for peace among all religions, this event was part of a broader campaign led by peace ambassadors from diverse faith backgrounds.
This special Christmas celebration provided a meaningful platform for interfaith dialogue, strengthening bonds among religious communities and reaffirming a shared commitment to peace, harmony, and national unity. The event concluded with prayers, goodwill messages, and a collective resolve to continue working together for a peaceful and inclusive Pakistan.
