India to protect credibility by filing counter affidavit in US Court challenge Prez Trump’s of Indo-Pak ceasefire. By Hem Raj Jain
India faces risk if files such counter affidavit in US Court because Trump-administration can submit in the court the audio-video and other evidences of conversation (between Prez Trump / Trump -administration with Indian authorities about Indo-Pak ceasefire) to prove threat of trade for ceasefire.
When Prez Trump tweeted that he made India and Pakistan to agree for ceasefire and that too by using trade as threat (https://www.msn.com/en-in/news/India/trump-says-again-he-used-trade-to-stop-indo-pak-conflict-congress-questions-modis-silence/ar-AA1Fg4KK?ocid=BingNewsSerp ) it created huge problems for PM Modi. Because in the present environment of anti-Muslim nationalism (which was generated specially after PM Modi came to power in 2014) PM Modi knows that present communally hyper charged India would not forgive / pardon PM Modi and his government and PM Modi would immensely lose his electoral support base if Hindu majority India is seen to agree for ceasefire with Muslim Pakistan (without demanding the handingover of longest wanted dreaded terrorist’s Chiefs namely Dawood Ibrahim, Hafiz Saed, Masood Azahar, Lakhvi and PoJK at least under possession of Pakistan (if not of China) which Modi government has been promising in Parliament and in public speeches to retrieve militarily as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrYdMar7Y8Q and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gs88XCT4Ijs ) and that too by getting blackmailed by PrezTRump due to threat of trade especially when Indian military allegedly had a tremendous upper hand over Pak military during ‘Operation Sindoor’. That is the reason MEA said that trade was not discussed (as reported athttps://www.newindianexpress.com/nation/2025/May/13/trade-did-not-come-up-in-discussions-with-us-during-india-pakistan-tensions-says-mea ) and PM Modi in his address to nation said that India agreed for cease fire because Pakistan begged for it (as given at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXxeQvuYP6o ) .
But Trump kept on saying also during his visit to Middle East (https://www.newindianexpress.com/nation/2025/May/15/trump-once-again-claims-he-helped-settle-india-pak-tensions-repeats-us-used-trade-as-leverage) that that he brokered Indo-Pak ceasefire and he said so in presence of South Africa President Ramaphosa too ( as reported at https://www.news18.com/world/settled-it-trump-again-claims-he-brokered-india-pak-ceasefire-in-talks-with-ramaphosa-ws-kl-9346988.html ) .
The Indians so far have been believing PM Modi and his government in this matter because Prez Trump and Trump administration has not provided any credible evidence of what PrezTrump has been saying regarding the role of Prez Trump using trade as threat for brokering Indo-Pak ceasefire. But the affidavit by TRump-administration in the US Court ( https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/other/us-official-claims-trump-tariffs-brought-china-to-table-and-halted-india-pakistan-conflict/ar-AA1FCAxO?ocid=BingNewsSerp ) has changed the situation fundamentally where it says that likely catastrophic nuclear war (in which millions would have been killed) was avoided by US brokered Indo-Pak ceasefire by using threat of trade. . Indians know that if what is claimed in this affidavit is not true then the affidavit givers can be charged and sentenced for perjury and no officer of Trump administration would take such risk. Therefore Indians would believe PM Modi led Government of India (GoI) only if it DARES to file the counter affidavit in US Court (which it is legally entitled to file as its name has appeared in the said affidavits in the court) to challenge Prez Trump’s claim of Indo-Pak ceasefire under threat of trade.
No doubt PM Modi / the GoI may not dare to file such counter affidavit in the US Court because there is immense risk in it namely the Prez Trump / Trump-administration can submit in the court the recording the audio-video and other evidences of conversation (which it certainly must be having) between Prez Trump / Trump -administration with Indian authorities about Indo-Pak ceasefire) to prove threat of trade for ceasefire.
Meanwhile Indians would wait with holden breath whether PM Modi led GoI would protect its credibility by DARING to file the counter affidavit in US Court to challenge Prez Trump’s claim of Indo-Pak ceasefire under threat of trade.
