What’s Truth behind speech of Founder of Pakistan? By Bishop Dr. FS Bhatti

Quaid – e – Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’ speech on 11th August 1947, what is truth behind speech? “You are free, you are free to go to your Temples, you are free to go to your Mosques or to any other place of Worship in this state of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion or caste or creed that has nothing to do with the business of State. We are starting with this fundamental principle that we are all citizens and equal citizens of ONE State.
I think we should keep that in front of us as our ideal and you will find that in due course Hindus would cease to be Hindus and Muslim would cease to be Muslim not in the religious sense, because that is a personal faith of each individual but in the political sense as citizens of the State.”
Above is speech of the founder of Pakistan Quaid - e - Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. This speech is for humanity' peace among all.
The essence of founder of Pakistan, Quaid – e – Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’ speech on 11th August 1947 was the patriotic spirit not in a religious sense among all but in the sense of unity to be one for an Ideal state. Quaid – e – Azam wanted to make Pakistan as one of the greatest nations in the world. where every religion, caste, creed can live peacefully to have complete human rights and to practice their beliefs in the context of Hindustan’ injustice with minorities. If they were Hindus, Muslim, Sikh, Christian and other minorities in founding member of first parliament of Pakistan. Whatever they had beliefs in religions. It did not affect the unity for the creation of Pakistan. Eventually Pakistan came into existence 14th August 1947. they had been successful.
The speech of Quaid – e - Azam had been broadcasting on Air till 1977 but later it is a tragedy that speech’ record had been removed from Radio Pakistan tragically even from BBC. Quaid – e – Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’ speech vividly explained that He wanted to make Pakistan as an Ideal state for all, where all human beings would have great values peacefully. If they had different beliefs or cast or creed from each other but they would have been one in the spirit of patriotism. Quaid – e - Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah clearly eliminated the spirit of racialism through his speech.
Quaid – e – Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’ speech delivered the spirit of patriotism as one nation. Later, it is great grief that critics did not spare the true spirit of the founder of Pakistan. There was huge criticism. Maybe it is human nature to criticize, but criticism must create reformation for the betterment of the nation. Criticism should not be for the criticism only. Humans must be humble before Almighty God because HE is eternal supreme power over all creation of the world. There were great powers in the history of the entire world but all of them had finished their life journey in this world. Because life is very short, only those people made history on the record who had been positively humble before Almighty God for the betterment of humanity. They had been remembered with honor and great respect. There were bad powers also in the History of the world but they are being disgraced by remembrance who had destroyed the true image of humanity.
According to the critical TV discussion among religious leaders, parliamentarian and scholars about 11th August 1947 speech of Quaid – e – Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Is Pakistan Secular or the republic of Pakistan or the Islamic republic of Pakistan? It had been a tragedy with the spirit of extremism to prove the personal ego. Most of the time they did let go the spirit of patriotism in vain without thinking about the unity and prosperity of the Nation. On the other side, the audience differently perceived the message according to their biases, short knowledge and ignorance.
But the extreme of personal ego did let them lead into the spirit of racialism or the spirit of militants or the spirit of “Maula Jutt” film culture. Later Maula Jutt film culture was replaced by the terrorism culture bomb blast on the churches, Masjids and schools etc. Where Christian, Muslim and other minorities who have no concern in the highest matter of racialism came under the spirit of terror. Even the whole country was going through different kinds of phases and challenges. Unrest in the soul of humans creates rebellious spirits from higher to average mentality.
It has been observed in these last seven decades. It seemed that there was no decent spirit of patriotism that united all on the platform of nationalism according to the founder of Pakistan Quaid – e – Azam’ dream and speech. But the spirit of ignorance changed into racialism that destroyed the dream of Founder of Pakistan Quaid – e – Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, peace of whole country and destroyed true image of humanity. The extreme of personal ego did let them go into the darkness. But they did not show the bright future of Pakistan.
Most scholars, think tanks, writers, journalists presented their proof about changing Pakistan’ name as Islamic republic of Pakistan in 1956. They said that Pakistan’ first name was the Republic of Pakistan in 1947 when Pakistan came into existence with the founding member of Pakistan, they were Hindus, Muslim, Silk, Parises, Christian and other minorities. Whatever they had belief in religions. They had been sincerely one in the unity as patriotic. The fundamental belief of these founding members’ parliament of Pakistan had no concern with business of the state. They were united in the one spirit for the cause of justice for humanity which they did not get in Hindustan.
These discussions had been carried out in these last seven decades among the critical religious points of views, critical secular points of view and different ideologies of racialism. Some scholars considered that Quaid – e – Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah might be secular. Even books were written on the founder of Pakistan as Secular Jinnah. But it was their personal points of view, how they perceive Quaid – e – Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Humans mostly oppose fellow human beings' points of views, opinion and ideologies whenever they have different ideology.
Even though, Quaid – e – Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah explained in his different speeches as fundamental Muslim. For example, Karachi Bar Association 25th January 1948’ speech and other speeches about his fundamental belief as Muslim.
Fundamental belief of Quaid – e – Azam did not affect the fellow founding members from different minorities Hindus, Christian and Parises. After the creation of Pakistan and died of Quaid – e – Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. There was a great difference when racialism started to increase in the whole country. In the newly Pakistan 1950, one of founding members of Parliament Hindus leader named Jogandra Nath Mandal went back to Hindustan after submitting resignation to Liaqat Ali Khan. He was first Minister for Kashmir’ Law. Due to racialism, Bangladesh was also separated from Pakistan.
Last seven decades are full of destruction due to racialism and even the founder of Pakistan’ dream was lost in the darkness. Now the hero of Pakistan is in parliament who won the World cup. May God help him in this era to shine the darkness.
In this recent era, Prime Minister Imran Khan is the man of good courage and who did not read on the paper mostly. He reads by heart, See his speeches. He wants to accomplish the dream of Quaid – e – Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He is trying his best to unite all faiths again for the betterment and good image of Pakistan in the eyes of the world and international media.
For example, he opened borders for Indian to be honored according to their faith to worship in Pakistan in their temples. May God bless Prime Minister Imran Khan richly to build up ideal dream land of Quaid – e – Azam Muhammad Ali on the one platform of patriotism for nationalism among all faiths.
May God bless him to carry on the good work for international peace among minorities and majority. May God bless the Prime Minister Imran Khan to overcome the spirit of racialism and injustice.
I think we should keep that in front of us as our ideal and you will find that in due course Hindus would cease to be Hindus and Muslim would cease to be Muslim not in the religious sense, because that is a personal faith of each individual but in the political sense as citizens of the State.”
