Teachings of God regarding “Hajj” and policy of Saudi rulers on it. By Ata Us Salam

Saudi Arabia is the holiest land for almost all Muslims and may be for some non-Muslims as well because many holy places including “Khana Kaba” are located there. Khana Kaba has a very long history. According to the Holy Quran, Khana Kaba is the home of God and it was built by the Prophet Abraham and his son. While some believe that in fact this was rebuilt by both of them and originally it was built centuries ago. Anyhow, what so ever its history, but almost all of the Muslims are agreed that it is the holiest place of worship for them, that’s why millions of Muslims from all over the world gather here at a certain time of the year to perform Hajj which is one of the pillars of Islam.
Now I am going to discuss the teachings of the Holy Quran regarding Hajj. I will talk about teachings of Quran only because it is the only Holy book which is unchanged since its revelation and memorized by millions of its believers. All Muslims have only one thing common in them and that is the Holy Quran otherwise they have a large number of different sects and beliefs. They have even interpreted this very simple to understand book according to their beliefs that is why I will write the message of God regarding Hajj from two very different translators of different beliefs.
According to the Holy Quran, if any person has enough money then the performing of Hajj is mandatory on him but Saudi government has restricted it to only Muslims but let me say that they have confined it only to their own sect fellows. They are not ready to allow Jews or Christians to perform Hajj who also believe in God and his Prophets. Even they allow, unhappily, to Iranian Muslims to perform Hajj. Although there are a large number of verses in the Quran regarding Hajj, I am going to write down translations of only two verses from the Holy Quran. It is the responsibility of people to guess themselves whether the stance of Saudi government is according to the Quran or if they have fabricated their rules according to their own desires instead of following God’s teachings. As written earlier, I have taken translations of these verses from two different translators, so the meaning of these verses could be undisputed and clear for all. The first verse is taken from Surah Aal-e-Imran.
First translation:
In it are manifest signs (for example), the Maqam (place) of Ibrahim (Abraham); whosoever enters it, he attains security. And hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) to the House (Ka'bah ) is a duty that mankind owes to Allah, those who can afford the expenses; and whoever disbelieves, then Allah stands not in need of any of the creatures.
(Aal-e-Imran, Chapter #3, Verse #97)
Second translation of same verse:
In it is manifest signs; it is the place of Abraham; and whoso enters it, enters peace. And pilgrimage to the House is a duty which men — those who can find a way thither — owe to Allah. And whoever disbelieves let him remember that Allah is surely independent of all creatures.
(Aal-e-Imran, Chapter #3, Verse #97)
In the second verse, I will copy the translation of that verse which talks about the punishment to those who will hinder human beings from visiting his home. This second verse is taken from Surah Al-Hajj.
First translation:
Verily, those who disbelieved and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and from Al-Masjid-al-Haram (at Makkah) which We have made (open) to (all) men, the dweller in it and the visitor from the country are equal there [as regards its sanctity and pilgrimage (hajj and 'Umrah)] - and whoever inclines to evil actions therein or to do wrong, him We shall cause to taste from a painful torment.
(Al-Hajj, Chapter #22, Verse #25)
Second translation of same verse:
As to those who disbelieve, and hinder men from the way of Allah and from the Sacred Mosque, which We have appointed equally for all men, be they dwellers therein or visitors from the desert, and whoso seeks wrongfully to deviate therein from the right path — We shall cause them to taste of a grievous punishment.
(Al-Hajj, Chapter #22, Verse #25)
So I have written two different translations of both of those verses in which the meanings are very obvious and have no doubt. In the first verse, God almighty is saying that every person who has enough amount of money should perform Hajj. In the second verse, God is advising those in control not to stop any person who wants to visit his home. I do not know what can be misunderstood or incomprehensible in these verses. In the Quran, God himself says that he has made the Quran very easy to understand.
I have fulfilled my duty and now it is up to the Saudi government whether they review their stance or continue insisting on their running policy which is clearly against the teachings of God.
