Manchester. Jan.29, 2002. Mr. George Felix, president, Pakistan united Christian organization (UK), talking to PCP said today that abolishment of reserved seats for Christian is against the interests of Christians of Pakistan.

He said the he always demanded the joint electorate system for Christians but he was gravely concerned to end the minority representation in parliament contrary to constitution of Pakistan by this government. He added that reservation seats for technocrats are against the constitution. Mr. Felix urged upon Christians to unite against this undemocratic act to end the Christian representation in Pakistan. He added that Muslim majority is not so tolerant and liberal in pakistan that Muslim voters shall vote for Christians in joint elections and the reserved seats were only way to raise their voice in house of representatives. He demanded the restoration of minority seats in parliament and increase in no of seats by 48% as in majority seats. Meanwhile the Leaders of Christian community in UK are meeting in London to discuss the representation situation and launch campaign against the Mushraf amendments.
