New York. Jan.15, 2002. Mr. Nazir S Bhatti, founder of Pakistan Christian Congress said that Joint electorate system was an imposed election procedure by the Muslim feudal lords political community on religious minorities under Constitution of Islami

The voice of few Christians and some NGO representatives against separate electorate system, confirms that they do not enjoy the confidence of poor Christians to get their votes to reach in parliament and they attempt to misled the national and international community that separate electorate system is way of apartheid in society. Mr. Bhatti said that elements against separate electorate have never dared to condemn the sections of constitution of 1973 stating that only Muslims can take offices of president, prime minister, chairman senate, speaker of national assembly and enjoy the key posts in armed forces and government owned corporations in pakistan when these articles make religious minorities the second class citizens in pakistan. He explained that in joint electorate system the ruling party nominates minority candidates and Muslim parliament members vote for their seats which leads the way for minority persons to parliament, having the confidence of Muslim feudal lords nor the Christians or other minorities.

This way of joint elections system is undemocratic and un constitutional when the separate elections provide minorities to vote for their own representatives to raise their voice in house. He added that approach of Muslim voters to their elected feudal lords and tribal chief is very difficult after their success and possibility of minorities to reach them is impossible. Mr. Bhatti said that parliament of pakistan is only house of feudal lords and tribal chiefs who want the minorities in parliament under joint election system to capture their voice and few Christians as their tool favor the joint elections only as Muslim intellectuals and democratic forces failed to reach on floor to voice for poor Muslim majority members since 1947 after the death of Quaid e Azam and Liaquat Ali Khan such so called minority leaders and NGO, s plan to shut the door to parliament for poor Christians.

Mr. Nazir s Bhatti condemn the negative roles of all Muslim political parties demanding joint electorate for minorities when they never issued party tickets to Christians in any national general election since independence of Pakistan to call Muslims to vote for their party non- Muslim candidates to argue in favor of joint election system.

Mr. Bhatti demanded dual voting rights for minorities in Pakistan and called for new legislative assembly elections to formation of constitution of People's Republic of Pakistan in the best interests of people of Pakistan.
