Karachi. 13 January 2002. The leaders of Pakistan Christian Congress Co-ordination Committee have urged the Indian government to immediately free Ian Stillman and to drop all the false and fabricated charges against him.

The missionary work and dedication to handicaps uplift programmed of Ian Stillman are very valuable and he has been set up by such forces previously involved in killing of Australian missionary and attacks on religious leaders of Christian faith in India.

Ian Stillman has been unjustly imprisoned in North India for 501 days. Ian has been a world - renowned aid pioneer among the deaf in India for 25 years. He himself is profoundly deaf. His right leg was amputated after a road accident. In August 2000 Ian was a passenger in a taxi in which police claimed to find drugs. After a short trial he was sentenced to ten years for trafficking. Ian denies all knowledge of drugs. There was no credible evidence at Ian's trial. He was refused a Hindi translator or deaf interpreter. For months he was held in cramped, unsanitary conditions without medical care.

The Kullu police claim Ian is a criminal wanted by Interpol for 30 years. Interpol and UK Government deny this absolutely.
