"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel sai

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. (Luke 2:8-14) When ever we read this passage from the Holy Bible, it reminds us of the love of our Lord God. God sent His Son to save us from the bondage of our sins and our iniquities. It reminds us that Most High came as a child in a manger in Bethlehem and the most clear and direct message of His coming was given to the poor shepherds. Though the sign was given to "Wise Men from East" (Probably Kings) yet God preferred poor men. Let us for a moment see why God had to come Himself to save us? When Children of Israel were suffering in bondage of Egypt God came "down". It is written, "And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; AND I AM COME DOWN TO DELIVER THEM OUT OF THE HAND OF EGYPTIANS" (Exodus 3:7-8). When we were in the bondage of "Sin" yet again out of His Love and Mercy, once again God came "DOWN" to deliver us out of the hand of Devil". It is very evident that when SOME ONE falls, we have to bend "DOWN" to pick him up. Like wise when we the mankind had fallen in the darkness of sin, God had to come "DOWN" to take us out or pick us up and lead us away from sin so that we do not perish but have eternal life. The message that was given to the shepherds of Bethlehem still seems fresh. It is a message for all ages. It is message of joy of His coming and freedom from the bondage of Devil and sin. This message is not confined to "A" place or "A" group of people but for all mankind, for men, women and children of all age. This message is for all races, Black, White, Brown, Yellow or Red. This is a living message that a "Saviour is Born" who can deliver us from the hands of Devil. Who can and will lead us to eternal life in the very presence of God. Jesus said "I am the way", yes He is the way and we can adopt this way with our faith on Lord Jesus Christ. The real meaning of Christmas or as we call it in Pakistan and correctly call it "Barha Din" (Biggest Day) is that God never forgets us. He loves us. He wants us to live with Him for ever and ever. For this we need to accept Lord Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Because "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved". (Acts 4:12) Therefore it is very important for all mankind to repent and come to Jesus Christ and be saved. There is no hope without Lord Jesus Christ. If there was, God did not need to come on earth and that is the Biblical Truth. Let no one mislead us because no other doctrine or way of life or religion gives any hope of salvation. May the Lord bless you all on this Barah Din (Christmas) APP SAB KO BARAH DIN AUR NIA SALL MUBARIK HO! (Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year)
