We were not expecting this on Christmas day" A Christian Young woman, still wide- eyed and shocked by the blast on worshipers. PCP Report.

DASKA, Sialkot. December 26. Mohammad Afzal, a Muslim cleric of the village have openly made announcement three days before the hand grenade blast in the village Chianwali church on the special Christmas services for the women and children of this P

It was told to PCP by the sources that" all the Muslim inhabitant of the village are not among the followers of Mohammad Afzal who have been Muslim militant group activist of one of banned group Jaish e Mohammad" These comments were uttered by a Muslim villager who was donating blood to the Christian injured woman in the hospital. Informed sources revealed " wounded Christian women and children were crying for the help but villagers were afraid to face the terrorists when one woman died in the church". The other two women died on way to hospital. Three women and children are among critical conditions in the hospital. This sad incident happened when Grenade explosions in a village church killed three young female worshippers and injured another 15 on Wednesday evening near the industrial city of Sialkot. An eyewitness said at least two hand-grenades were flung into the United Presbyterian church during a Special Christmas service for women and children. She said the attackers were probably males who had worn burqas (a head-to-foot shroud worn by women) to escape detection. One woman died on the spot while two others breathed their last on their way to hospital. The condition of Two women and one child from among the 15 are stated to be critical. The explosion caused widespread panic and worshippers were seen running helter skelter moments after the grenades were lobbed. "People were screaming out and falling about us. We were badly shaken...we were not expecting this on Christmas Day," said a young woman, still wide-eyed and alert from the shock of the blast. Fewer than 40 Women were assembled in the one-room church at the time of the attack. The church is located in Chianwali Village, 12 miles away from the town of Daska in Sialkot. This is the first time that a Christian place of worship has been targeted in the district Sialkot in a village. There are no apparent signs of tension in the immediate area around the church. The Muslim population of Chianwali donated blood and volunteered their services to the Christian victims and their families so Muslim families live near the church. On Thursday, the police rounded three suspected members of the outlawed Islamism group, Jaish-e-Muhammad, and started questioning them. Among the three men is a cleric Mohammad Afzal. The other two detainees could not be identified. The police also arrested the four Jaish e Mohammad militants involved in 29 October 2001, Bahawalpur Church massacre of 18 Christian but they were killed in encounter. Police claimed the killing of 2 terrorists after the Muree Christian School attack killing six Christians in police encounter. The Islamabad international church attack with 4 killings of Christian worshipers was also claimed with arrests but till this day the culprits have not punished by any court of laws. The Taxila Church attack killing 16 are still at large when there have been not any arrests made by police on killing of 7 Christian charity workers at Karachi on 25 September 2002. Its informed that administration ignored the security of Chianwali Church on Christmas when they were well informed by the religious decree of Mohammad Afzal a day before the attack.
