BANNU: Two unidentified assailants on Friday lobbed a hand-grenade into the compound of the historic Mission Hospital, damaging its outer wall and smashing all its windows. No one was injured in the attack, as there weren't any staff or patients' rel
The assailants were riding on a motorcycle and fled soon after hurling the grenade, according to the local Police. A lead provided by the hospital management seemed to suggest that the attack might have been mounted by a disgruntled security guard who was sacked some weeks ago. The police are investigating his possible role in the attack. Built over a hundred years ago by Dr Theodore Pennell, the Mission Hospital is one of five church-run Hospitals located along the border with Afghanistan. This is the second Christian hospital to be targeted in the past eight weeks. Last August terrorists threw Several hand-grenades outside a chapel of the Taxila Christian Hospital.
