New York. October 3. Pakistan Christian Congress, president, Nazir S Bhatti, in a statement said that Karachi Police is torturing Robin Piranditta in their so-called protective custody and his family members are even not allowed to visit him. He said

Mr. Bhatti said that instead of arresting the terrorists administration is leading to take the only survivor as the suspect. He feared that police plans to kill Robin piranditta and close the case to apprehend the culprits. He said that doctors and Prof S Haroon Ahmed of the Institute of Behavioural Sciences in Karachi sprang to the defence of Robin Piranditta who said " Robin was probably suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder--a medical condition that causes involuntary confabulations in patients when a question is repeated over and over again. And added that "I sympathies with Robin's ordeal...The truth eludes him because every time he is asked the same question He fills the memory gaps by confabulations," confirming that he is not lying to police but he is seriously sick and investigators have put him under depression. Mr. Nazir S Bhatti urged the Interior Minister to accept responsibility and to resign on discriminate Karachi police tear gas shelling and firing on the mourners of the peaceful religious precession of funerals of the martyrs of the terrorist attacks at Christian establishment Justice and Peace. He said that instead of arrests of the killers to lodge FIR under section 147, 148 and 151 PPC to term this funeral procession an illegal assembly and breach of peace against the mourners of the funeral is barbaric act of the administration when teargas shelling on the women, elders and children have terrified the mourners and force them to think that they are not secure by the hands of terrorist nor by the government of Pakistan. He said that now taking Robin Piranditta in custody and torture him is also to close eyes from the real culprits involved in the incident. Mr. Nazir S Bhatti appealed to the president of Pakistan to order the safety of the life of Robin Piranditta under police custody demanded the immediate withdrawal of cases against 55 Christians arrested by Karachi police during the funeral procession and to stop raids on the houses of the Christians. He said that its duty of the administration to arrest the killers of seven innocent Christians but police is making raids and further arrests on the houses of Christians. He expressed his concern that police is making the only survivor of this incident Robin Piraditta, a suspect instead of making arrests of the culprits. He said that FIR of that sad incident may be made public and the police on duty in the vicinity may be named in the FIR on neglecting the safety of the inhabitant.
